BC Provincial Nominee Program – Tech Pilot explained

Finally, Temporary Workers and Employers in British Columbia’s tech industry have reason to celebrate!  The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) has a introduced the BC PNP Tech Pilot.

A few months ago, the Canadian Government made a change to how the tech industry is able to hire temporary workers.  They introduced the Global Talent Stream (GTS) to speed up processing to allow employers to hire skilled workers faster.  This fills labour shortages, helps businesses grow and allows the tech industry remain competitive.

Following in their footsteps, the BC PNP Tech Pilot aims to process eligible applications more frequently and faster.

The BC PNP Tech Pilot offers the following:

  1.  Dedicated staff within the BC PNP to assist tech employers with understanding the immigration process and their role and responsibilities as an employer
  2. Weekly invitations to apply for eligible “Tech” occupations
  3. Priority processing following submission of your application

While most of these programs require a job offer from an employer in British Columbia, the process is user-friendly.  Noteworthy, there are also many options available for skilled workers, recent graduates, post-graduates and more.

In summary the BC PNP Tech Pilot allows qualified applicants to receive decisions sooner.  It helps the province of BC keep much needed skilled workers in their province.  This also means that these workers will be able legally work in Canada faster.  Both the province of BC and federal government have shown their recognition of the important role the Canadian tech industry plays.  This is shown by their making it easier for employers to hire and maintain workers.  Talk to us today to start your Permanent Residency Application.
