This September, Norteway celebrates their 4th anniversary helping people immigrate to Canada!
In September 2014, two women joined together professionally with the same purpose: to help people maneuver through the complex field of Canadian immigration law and education, giving life to Norteway Consulting Canada. After having vast experience each in their respective area, Canadian Immigration Consulting and education consulting, they took the step to create their own entrepreneurship; whose mission is to advise, help and guide people to fulfill their dreams in the country located north of the hemisphere called Canada.

Who are our founders?
Krista Silverwood, born and raised in Vancouver Canada, was always interested in immigration, so when she finished her Bachelor’s degree at the University of British Columbia (UBC) she obtained her certification as an immigration consultant and became a member of the Regulatory Council of Immigration Consultants of Canada (ICCRC) since 2012.
For the area of educational consulting, Rebeca Barreto is a graduate of Social Communications specializing in Business and Trade marketing. Born in Brazil and currently living in Vancouver as a permanent resident. It has given her the necessary experience to know closely what is coming from another country to live in Canada. She knows the importance of education along the way in the realization of her dreams, so her advice is valuable when making decisions.
1) Why did you take the path of working in the area of immigration and educational counseling in Canada?
Rebeca: I’ve decided to contribute to people’s dreams based on my own experience, I came as a student and became a permanent resident of Canada. I like to encourage people to achieve their goals and give them the best options so that they can make their plans concrete. I believe one of the most challenging experiences of life is to live abroad, as well as being invaluable because you get to know another culture, meet new people and most importantly you get to know yourself better. Being away from your country and your comfort zone, helps you to reach places that you didn’t even know you were capable of.
Krista: I have always been interested in people, cities and immigration. When I was studying my undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia, I majored in Geography. After graduating, I decided that I would focus my career in the area of immigration and pursued my certification as a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC). Canada is a relatively young country, built by immigration. These needs have transformed overtime but never disappeared. In addition, as I began speaking to people about their experiences relating to immigration in Canada, I found many people struggled finding qualified professionals to help them. Working as an Immigration Consultant has allowed me to blend my desire to help people, my interest in immigration, migration patterns, people and geography with my career passions.
